What is SFER?
Students for Education Reform is a non-profit organization founded by two students from Princeton University in 2009. The idea behind the organization is to provide college students a voice within the education reform movement; SFER identifies, trains, and connects top undergraduate leaders to promote pro-reform student movements on their campuses.
To mobilize the next generation of leaders on college campuses to close the achievement gap and ensure that all children receive an excellent education.
Theory of Change
Change public opinion, enact policies that create conditions for lasting success, and flood the human capital pipeline.
High expectations, quality school options and community engagement, great teachers and leaders, rigorous standards and meaningful assessments, and fiscal transparency and responsibility.
Plan of Action
SFER works to recruit, train, organize, and advocate students to create a national student led movement demanding better policies while flooding the human capital pipeline with diverse new talent.
